Billing
Each Phase is priced the way it’s used: building is free, finding the answer is pay-as-you-go, and keeping Shimmy in Production is a flat fee.
| Phase | Price |
|---|---|
| Dev | Free. Replays cost nothing; making Recordings draws a free Dev allowance ($5 at signup). |
| Tuning | What the providers charge Shimmy, plus 25% — the candidates, the grading, all of it. Paid from your Wallet. |
| Production — passthrough | Free. Shimmy isn’t in the path. |
| Production — managed | $4.99 per Workflow per month. Calls run on your own provider keys, so there’s no per-call charge. |
The Wallet
One prepaid balance per account. Top up by card through Stripe Checkout from the billing page — $10 minimum. Your card is saved for auto top-up and subscription renewals.
Auto top-up adds a set amount when the Wallet falls below a threshold, at most once an hour, so a long Tuning session doesn’t stall on an empty Wallet.
Credits expire 365 days after purchase and are not refundable. The oldest credit is spent first.
The ledger on the billing page lists every top-up, every Tuning charge (per Workflow), every subscription draw and every expiry.
Why prepaid
How much Tuning costs depends on your Workflow — how many Steps, how long their prompts are, how many runs it takes for each to settle — and that’s hard to know before you start. A prepaid Wallet makes the ceiling yours to set: Tuning spends what you put in and no more.
Production subscriptions
Start one per Workflow from its Production tab. Each month’s fee is drawn from
the Wallet first, then charged to your saved card. If a renewal can’t be charged,
the Workflow keeps being served for a 7-day grace period, marked past due, and
you get a billing_failed alert. Cancel any time; the subscription runs to the end
of the paid month.
A Production re-search after drift is included in the subscription.
Spend caps
Separately from the Wallet, you can set a monthly spend cap and an alert threshold under Settings → alerts. See alerts and webhooks.
